AgriTech Enterprise recently hosted a high-level delegation from the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) at its offices in Lilongwe as part of a routine monitoring and evaluation engagement under the Youth Innovation Fund (YIF) programme.
The visit provided an opportunity to review progress on YIF-supported activities and to assess their contribution to strengthening AgriTech’s institutional capacity and improving outcomes for smallholder soybean farmers. The NYCOM delegation engaged with AgriTech’s management and technical teams to gain insight into project implementation and emerging results.
The assessment noted positive progress across key areas, including responsible use of grant resources, strengthened organizational systems, and early indications of improved access to quality inputs for participating farmers. Particular emphasis was placed on capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, accountability, and farmer readiness to adopt improved production practices.
Discussions also highlighted the importance of timely project implementation within the agricultural calendar to ensure that farmers are able to access inputs when they are most needed. Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to sustaining momentum and supporting youth-led agricultural enterprises.
Looking ahead, AgriTech Enterprise remains focused on expanding opportunities for youth and women within the soybean value chain, strengthening farmer cooperatives, and maintaining robust monitoring mechanisms to support productivity and sustainable growth.
AgriTech expressed appreciation to NYCOM for its continued support and constructive engagement, recognizing the Youth Innovation Fund as a key enabler of youth participation and innovation in Malawi’s agricultural sector.
